BTCD would like to welcome and introduce you all to Brandy McMahon! Brandy is the new evaluator for the tobacco program and comes to us from the Maricopa County Department of Health. Ironically, Brandy is our newest, yet, now veteran evaluator (due to Kristina’s departure) for the bureau. ☺ Below is a brief bio about Brandy. Please join me in welcoming her to our team!
Brandy graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s in Agribusiness, and then journeyed to the Caribbean to attend St. George’s University. She received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology while there, and enjoyed studying in a school that focused on the international aspect of public health. When she wasn’t studying, she was taking boats to neighboring islands, “hashing” or hiking the mountains and rain forests of Grenada and making friends with people from around the world. Once she returned to the States, Brandy worked for a Las Vegas company, pulling together information on critical infrastructure within that state. She also worked for Maricopa County Office of Vital Records doing death registration, and the Air Quality Department as an inspector. Brandy enjoyed working for the county, but is excited to be at ADHS. In her spare time she plays racquetball without following any of the rules and reads as much as she can of whatever she can get my hands on-except horror.
