Arizona stays among the nation’s leaders in limiting exposure to secondhand smoke!

In the recently published report of the 2009-2010 National Adult Tobacco Survey, Arizona is listed as 6th in the nation for smoke-free homes (86% of the population reporting having 100% smoke-free homes).  Even more impressive, Arizona is listed as #3 in the nation for smoke-free vehicles, with 83% of the population reporting having 100% smoke-free vehicles.  With over 10% of tobacco-related disease and death attributed to exposure to secondhand smoke, these findings are promising, but will only serve to increase our commitment to embark on new ways of eliminating the effects of tobacco on both consumers and those who are exposed to secondhand or even thirdhand smoke.
